Solving Pandemic Challenges

A Purdue-licensed discovery is now available to a world that so desperately needs its protecting power. Indiana-company and global licensee Poly Group LLC has branded its innovative product as Nouvex™. Put simply, Nouvex is a polymeric family of materials that protects surfaces and is scientifically proven to have antimicrobial, antiviral, and antifungal effects, while also eradicating biofilms. Currently being tested against COVID-19, Nouvex formulations are already being integrated into plastics, resins, rubber, and latex and soon will be available in sanitizing sprays and wipes, powder coatings, paints, coatings, and wax, as well as woven and non-woven textiles.

What is Nouvex?

Nouvex combines a bio-compatible monomer with an antimicrobial monomer in formulations that are known to be both safe and effective, demonstrating low toxicity and significant biocompatability. Combined with its persistent effectiveness, Nouvex can be applied or integrated into various platforms and has staying power. That persistency reduces the number of applications needed to maintain a constant level of protection.

Nouvex is already an EPA-registered (91413-2) antimicrobial preservative. Poly Group hopes to fast-track additional testing, ultimately leading to additional EPA-approved health claims for both Nouvex and the products that utilize this technology. The company continues to build joint development agreements with companies interested in integrating Nouvex into their already-existing manufacturing processes and sanitization plans.
